Press Release

Earlier this year, the City terminated the former police chief after an independent internal affairs investigation.

Three former employees of the City commenced a lawsuit in federal court concerning allegations related to their former employment.

The City is now pleased that the litigation has been settled by the Georgia Interlocal Risk Management Agency (“GIRMA”), which develops and administers the interlocal risk management program in which the City is a member and one or more group self-insurance funds in which the City participates.

No one should experience the events described in lawsuit, if true.

The City of Jesup is committed to be a premier place in which to live and work.
