The City of Jesup has completed extensive renovations to both Cracker Williams Park and the Cracker Williams Community Center.
City Commissioners requested the assistance of the Carl Vinson Institute of Government to create a Master Plan for the playground, community center, and pool. The Master Plan for Cracker Williams is
available here.
The existing playground equipment was upgraded, new equipment was added, and the entire area was equipped with top of the line "jelly bean" mulch for safety. Two brand new ADA swings were also added to the park thanks to a generous donation by the Altamaha Women's Club.
A new pavilion was added at the park with restrooms and a picnic area. Six picnic tables, an outdoor sink, and fans are available for use at the pavilion. This area is available for public use on a first-come first-serve basis.
The 4,000 square foot Community Center was also renovated and is now available for public rentals.
The banquet room features:
Capacity for up to 225-250 people seated
Tables and chairs available for use
Kitchen on-site with refrigerator, gas range, and ice machine
Newly renovated ADA compliant restrooms
